GCC Young Driver Academy Program Starts Today

First GCC Young Driver Academy started in Bahrain International Circuit today, April 29th. This regional motorsport development project is founded and managed by three FIA appointed global training providers: BMF, QMMf and ATCUAE, and is supported by the FIA.

This is a great example of what can be achieved via regional cooperation and I hope we can build on this scheme in the future“ said Mohammed Ben Sulayem, ATCUAE President. “And I am confident this is an important step in career development for promising young drivers from the UAE”.

The ATCUAE’s nominated Amna Al Qubaisi and Saeed Al Ali, will be spending two days in Bahrain and then two days in the UAE, contesting against each other and ten drivers nominated by other GCC motorsport governing bodies.

The winner will be selected on May 2nd in Dubai.

Day one of the program was dedicated to physical fitness assessment and delivery of a number of race specific classroom training modules.
