There were three finishers in the T3 category at the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge. Last year’s Dubai International Rally winner Emirati Ahmed Al-Maqoodi and fellow local navigator Obaid Al-Ketbi clinched the category in their Polaris Racing Team UAE RZR 1000 and finished an excellent 11th overall.

The French duo of Stephane Trote (who finished first in the same category in Dakar Rally) and Patrick Antoniollo finished second in a similar car and Ukrainian driver Vadym Prytuliak ran solo to finish third.

Al Maqoodi, who competed in the Polaris UAE team on the Polaris RZR1000, spoke about his adventure at the Rally of his country. "The end was excellent after we were able to lead the T3 category and occupy 11th place in the final ranking of the Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge "On the first day we encountered the problem of the heat of the Bugi and on the second day we got the penalty of adding 8.5 hours. In the last three days, we had to press all the limits without risk. Progress on our nearest competitor by about an hour and an hour and a half and this is how We returned, and in the end we were able to achieve the goal for which we participated. "
