Formula 1 Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

The Etihad Airways Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Formula One takes place on Yas Island’s Yas Marina Circuit. The track is 5.55 kms long, and can be split into smaller tracks at 3.1kms and 2.4kms, with each section capable of operating simultaneously if required. The event attracts over 50,000 spectators, who watch the action from the comfort of permanent, covered grandstands and VIP facilities. The Abu Dhabi circuit is the only motorsport venue in the world where all of the grandstands are covered.

While the facilities make for a VIP experience for all, the 60 m solar-powered Sun Tower is for actual VIPs. The Driving School Building, Drag Racing Centre, Maintenance Building, Karting Centre and Business Park are now expected to be a hive of activity year-round.

The ATCUAE in its capacity as the local ASN (or National Sporting Authority) has been tasked with ensuring the Circuit and the event itself adhere to FIA specifications, rules and regulations. Additionally, the ATCUAE has also assumed the responsibility of recruiting and training the hundreds of Marshals and Volunteers required to man the event. In essence, the ATCUAE plays an integral and pro-active role in ensuring the inaugural Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is a resounding success
